The easiest way to restore a satin sheen to your jewelry. Pinkie Swear.

The easiest way to restore a satin sheen to your jewelry. Pinkie Swear.

Okay guys, we know spring is in the air and we are all Kondo-ing our closets and what not, but before you decide to toss your old jewels that have lost their luster, may we suggest the easiest/fastest/cheapest way to breathe life back into those old pieces?

Remember when you first purchased that gold filled ring? It had the most glorious luster. Shiny, but not too shiny. Just like, the Goldie locks of shiny. But as you wear your pieces, over time that perfect sheen can fade, either becoming more dull or even shinier. Sometimes you dig it, and sometimes you just want to bring back the Goldielocks.

Introducing 1200 grit sandpaper. You can buy it online here, or hit up your local auto body shop. One sheet will last you A REALLY LONG TIME. Trust. All you need to do is tear off a little piece, and rub your jewelry with it. The high grit allows for a nice satin finish, without making it too shiny, but is also gentle enough to use on all of our jewelry (or anything that is sterling silver, 14k gold, or 14k gold filled). Definitely get at least 1200 grit, and feel free to go higher.

We also have our dandy little polishing pads available for $1 on every product page. These guys rock, too, especially if you are looking for a little extra shine.

And the absolute BEST way to breathe life back into those pretties? A rub down with our polishing pad followed by a gentle wipe with the sandpaper. Major chef's kiss.

Be well.
